Illumination Learning Studio presents high-quality Afternoon Arts classes for ages K-5th grade with three locations serving Ballard and Phinney Ridge. We are NW Seattle’s premier studio for performing and fine arts classes offering children ongoing lessons in music, performance, dance, voice and fine arts.

We have an immediate opening for a Part-time (22.25-hours a week) position in our Afternoon (after school) Arts Program as Studio Site Supervisor. In this role, you will supervise 2-3 after school assistants and ensure the implementation of our cultural, performing and fine arts curriculum consistent with ILS standards. You will be responsible for maintaining positive student and parent relations, conducting brief student town hall meetings for 30-35 students K-5th, assist in arts lesson planning, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of your site.

Our Studio Site Supervisors work as a collaborative team to create and deliver fun and engaging lesson plans and activities in a safe and caring environment. Students in our programs gain exposure to interactive learning, music, performing, and fine arts. Responsibilities

  • Supervises small team of teaching assistants
  • Builds and maintains great relationships with parents and students
  • Leads walking group from School to Site each afternoon
  • Leads town hall meetings with students
  • Sets behavior expectations with students and team members.
  • Responsible for the organization, supply inventory and cleanliness of the site
  • Opportunity to work on special projects and develop creative center activities

Qualifications

  • BA or relevant experience in early childhood learning, after school, or other children’s programs
  • 2-3 years of teaching experience in high quality early childhood education programs
  • 1-2 years in supervisory role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong time management and classroom management skills
  • Ability to exercise professional judgment in handling sensitive and confidential issues with discretion
  • Ability to contribute in a positive manner, being self-driven, organized, creative thinking and reliability area must
  • Described by others as being highly reliable and responsible

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 1:45pm-6:00pm; Wednesday 12:45pm-6pm
Start Date: January 3, 2023
