Summer Camp Assistant 

Looking for a fun summer job opportunity that provides lots of variety and outdoor time? We are currently filling Camp Assistant positions and looking for individuals who are responsible and passionate about early learning camps for ages 5-12. This position will work closely with a Camp Lead and other Camp Assistants onsite and during park and field-trip time, Monday through Friday in the Ballard and Greenwood neighborhoods.

Our Camp teams work together using a collaborative approach to deliver fun experiences for different themed camps throughout the summer. Students in our camps have lots of time outdoors and are exposed to elements of music, drama, dance, voice and art projects – offering a truly spirited and creative experience.  Our teams are responsible to ensure the safety of all students during their time attending our Summer Camps.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time work available

Daily Camp Hours: 7:45am- 6:00pm Monday-Friday; must be available for shifts during these times

Pay: $16/hour

Position Summary and Responsibilities

  • Assist in running daily camp schedule and activities
  • Ensure safety protocol is followed for students in and out of our studio
  • Encourage student participation in activities, projects and field-trips
  • Greet parents and students arriving to camp and at pick-up time
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of studio
  • Encourage the learning and positive behavior of students
  • Ensure students are having fun while safe and respectful of each other

Experience and Skills Required

  • Prior experience in camps, elementary age education and the arts
  • Be passionate about for high-quality early childhood learning and cultural arts
  • Exercise professional judgment in handling student relations
  • Ability to lead activities and games
  • Engage campers in learning activities
  • Contribute to the workplace in a positive manner


  • Experience in childcare, education or camps
  • Be self-motivated, organized and reliable
  • Ability to work independently or with supervisors and staff
  • Ability to communicate in an effective manner with supervisors and students
