Lights, Camera, Dance!

For as long as movies have been around, dance has played an important part of storytelling in Hollywood. During this week, we will be studying movie scenes throughout history that feature dancing. We will explore different ways that dance has been used in film (i.e. part of the plot, extra entertainment, comic relief, etc.) and learn about the genres of dance which are most commonly seen in movies. Campers will be taught choreography to some notable scenes, will choreograph their own dances inspired by what we are learning, and will record their own dances on film to share with families!
