COVID-19 Information - For ILS Students and Campers

  • COVID-19 Information

    ILS Students and Campers
  • The following information is intended to provide guidance and clarification to parents of Illumination Learning Studio students and campers. Safety remains our number one concern for students, staff and the greater whole of our community. All safety measures are subject to change based on future health authority and government recommendations.

  • Maintaining In-Person Lessons at ILS

It is currently our intention at Illumination Learning Studio to continue to provide in-person learning for Preschool, Pre-K, After School and Music programming.  In the event of a positive Covid case in our classroom, we will close for 24-hours to allow for a deep clean of the studio and learning tools, and to give impacted families an opportunity to seek testing.

If your child is showing any cold-like symptoms, as listed below, please keep them home and arrange for a Covid test. Many of the Seattle Public Schools are offering testing for SPS students in the event you cannot find an in-home test or other rapid test appointment.

  • COVID-19 Quarantine and Isolation Guidance

At present, we are following the guidelines found on the Seattle + King County Department of Health site. Please note, that ILS classifies as a congregate setting which the DOH advises to follow previous guidelines.

I tested positive and have symptoms (Click here to determine your Isolation/Quarantine Time)

If you have symptoms and have tested positive for COVID-19, you must isolate for 10 days from the date your symptoms began. You may end isolation when:

    • at least 10 days must have passed since your symptoms began and
    • at least 24 hours must have passed since your fever went away without the use of fever-reducing medicine (such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen) and
    • your other symptoms have improved.
I tested positive but do not have symptoms (Click here to determine your Isolation/Quarantine Time)

If you do not have symptoms and have tested positive for COVID-19, you must isolate for 10 days from the day you had your test done.

I was exposed to COVID-19 (identified as a close contact) (Click here to determine your Isolation/Quarantine Time)

You were in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, but you do not have any symptoms. It may be possible to end quarantine after 7 full days beginning after your last contact if you have been without symptoms and after receiving a negative result from a test (get tested no sooner than 48 hours before ending quarantine).

  • Information for After School Students Only

In the event that the school your child attends closes, or the SPS bus route your child takes to ILS is not available, our after-school program will be open for parent drop off from 2pm. Our after school program will remain open as usual until 6pm.

If their school is open, we will continue to offer the walking group at West Woodland and Greenwood Elementary, and transportation from Cascadia Elementary.
