Saturday Music at ILS Greenwood

  • Group Music Classes

  • Music at ILS: From First Notes to Young Musicians

At ILS, children experience music as something to explore, create, and enjoy. Our two music classes are designed to meet children at different stages of development, building musical skills progressively from early caregiver-and-child exploration to more independent musicianship.

Through singing, rhythm, movement, listening, instruments, and creative play, students develop a strong musical foundation while building confidence, coordination, focus, and a lifelong love of music.

  • Across our music program, students will:

    • Develop rhythm through repetition, call and response, echoing, and sequencing
    • Build listening and early ear-training skills through musical patterns and games
    • Strengthen coordination and musicality through movement and dance
    • Explore a variety of instruments, including piano
  •

    • Grow from playful participation into increasingly confident and intentional music-making
    • Develop vocal confidence and explore the voice as an instrument
    • Begin to understand musical concepts such as melody, harmony, rhythm, form, and timbre.
    • Develop musical memory, focus, and independence
  • Classes are lively, engaging, and developmentally appropriate—balancing structure with creativity so every child can participate at their own pace.
